making memories in the mountains

Gaaaahhh... this weekend was amazing! Going unplugged was so refreshing. I was able to catch up on some much needed, uninterrupted QT with my family. I forgot how good it feels to really get away every once in a while. I loved everything about being in that little cabin in the woods for a couple of days. We did manage to get out for lunch one day, but for the majority of the time we were lazy and loving life.

Yours truly walking the streets of Saluda...

Hours of cuddling my little ones in our jammies... (Mimi + Avery)

Have I mentioned how much I love the leaves falling? My munchkins loved them too...

Evenings were spent playing family board games by the fire while sipping on hot apple cider. It was perfect! Needless to say, I'm counting down the days 'til next year's mountain trip. :)

change

I love watching the leaves change color with the changing of the seasons. We can really appreciate it up here in the mountains of North Carolina. It is an extra dose of beautiful! Our family mountain trip is one of my favorite annual traditions, and I'm so glad that it didn't stop when my childhood ended. My boys will grow to love this as well, I'm sure.

gold watch | the look for less

I bought this bad boy on Overstock, and it looks just like the Michael Kors one that I've had my eye on. I was afraid that the gold would look cheap or the face of the watch would be darker than I wanted, but I couldn't be more pleased. The perfect knock-off for the perfect price: $25 vs. $250! Here it is sitting pretty on my arm...

I'm still getting adjusted to the time change, and with this timepiece on my arm, I really can't stop looking to see what time it is. It should be getting dark soon, right?

What do you think about my look for less? I love it.

let's talk scents

If you're anything like me, you're very sensitive to and opinionated about perfumes. I literally have to wear a scent for a day before purchasing it to see if it gives me a headache. It's all about personal preference (I know), but I wanted to share my top 3.

You can't even compare these two... they are so different, but I love them equally.

And an oldie but goodie for me -- I've worn Light Blue for years. My husband makes sure that I never run out. I think it probably brings back memories of us dating for him. :)

What do you wear? Are you familiar with any of my 3? If so, what are your thoughts on the scents? Recommendations for ones I may like would be greatly appreciated. There are just so many to choose from out there!

Wishlist Wednesday

With winter weather on the way, I'm loving CAPES as an option for new outer layers:

H&M

Sportmax

Tahari

Modcloth

My Pet Square

Vero Moda Very

I found an awesome cape at TJ's the other day for a great price, but of course, there were no smalls left. My hunt for the perfect cape (for the perfect price) continues...

If you'd like to "link up" to my wishlist series, you may do so below. Have a happy hump day!
