I Love Thrifting

So, I'm not the only one that spends my Saturdays looking for good deals around town. Rashon Carraway from the Mr. Goodwill Hunting blog has established a day where all thrifters unite and treasure hunt together. Now, this sounds like my kind of get-together! It's all going down on July 9th. Here is the 411 for my Cola peeps.

You can get your "i <3 thrifting" shirt here.

I'm a little bummed that I can't partake in the thrifting adventures of July 9th, but I'll be busy shooting a wedding in Charleston. I'd love to see what y'all find, so please post your treasures for the "blogworld" to see!

Target's Treasures

First off, I have been a "Tarjay" lover for as long as I can remember. You really can't beat their prices for home decor! I find myself drooling over some of the pretty things that they are selling these days. Here are a few of my favorites for around the house:

Aaahhhh... now, go visit your local Target store and snatch up some of these beauties for your home. All can be found here.

Home Sweet Home

I am originally from Charleston, SC and still consider it "home." Travel + Leisure did a recent survey showing that the most attractive people live in Charleston, SC. It is also, in my opinion, the most beautiful place in the world. You can read a little snippet about it here.

Friday Finds

While I was in Florida last week for my brother-in-law's wedding, I managed to squeeze in some treasure hunting. I usually go by myself or drag my husband and our kids along, but this time I was accompanied by my other bother-in-law's girlfriend, Victoria.

Here we go...

For a whopping $2, I walked away with my one find of the day! It even had its original price tag attached on the bottom that read $20.

Blue Capiz Shell Lotus Tealight Candle Holder

It reminds me of something found here!

I recently spotted a dress on Anthropologie's website and immediately thought of one of Angie Hranowsky's projects.

A Great Deal!

I discovered my first Goodwill Clearance Center while perusing through a few local thrift stores one Saturday morning last month. Upon entering the store, my eye immediately spotted an unusual faux bamboo dresser. I tried to talk down her $25 price tag and was informed that all prices were firm until Sunday. Get this... every Sunday, everything in the store is marked down 50%. What a deal! I took a chance and decided to return when the doors opened the next day. There she was, and I only paid $12.50! Now, that's a steal of a deal.

The dresser sat in our garage for a couple of weeks while I contemplated what color to paint it. After sanding down each piece, I used an olive green that I already had on hand from another project. For now, this vintage dresser sits in my son's room looking like this...

Next on my list:
-finding the perfect new hardware
-choosing a pretty paper to line the drawers

Here goes nothing...

I've had several blogs over the past few years, but after the initial motivation to blog regularly wears off, I find myself calling it quits. However, this time around I think things will be different. This blog is going to be comprised primarily of my favorite finds, home projects, and all things design. I hope that you'll enjoy what you find here!
